in the same names as they appeared in the article, for example,
Fig1a, Fig1b, and so on

Using a freely available plotting utility xmgrace, the data can be
plotted as

xmgrace Figure_file_name.agr

For instance: xmgrace Fig1.agr

The data associated with these figures can be easily retrieved by
opening the agr file in any editor.
