Relationship between files, if important: gcmt3d.txt and gcmt3d.tar.gz provide the same thing but in different formats for convenience. gcmt3d.txt is a text file containing all source model files. gcmt3d_dir.tar.gz is a compressed directory containing one file for each event; the files are named using the respective Global CMT event id. 3. Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: To produce the event catalogs we downloaded observed displacement records from the IRIS Data Management Center (DMC) and computed synthetic seismograms using specfem3d_globe.
